Under the Radar: FN Herstal FNS-9

Designed and introduced in 2011, the FN (Fabrique Nationale) Herstal FNS-9 is FN's original offering into the commercial, striker-fired 9MM and .40S&W world. Its complete ambidextrous features paired with FN's acclaimed cold hammer forged barrel offers both left and right handed shooters an accurate, double stack handgun.

After its release, the FNS found home in many law enforcement agencies across the country. With comparatively little commercial advertising than other modern day firearms from manufactures within the same esteemed caliber as FN, the FNS touted a decent following but failed to materialize the the same sales numbers as some of its competitors. Despite this, the FNS saw satisfied purchasers across the board.

After making some design changes to the FNS, FN released the handgun's predecessor, the FN509. Even with this 2017 release, the FNS still holds its ground as a formidable handgun within firearm enthusiast market.
